How does the brachial plexus become pinched? tight scalenes cause rib and clavicle to pinch brachial plexus
Which muscle group is brachioradialis a part of? hand extensors
Which nerves effect the extensor group? radial nerves
Which nerves effect the flexor group? ulnar nerves
Where do radial and ulnar nerves originate from? C6-C7
What is whiplash? violent/forceful action to neck causing muscle tears and inflammation
What does poor posture cause? muscle tension/shortening
What causes tension headaches? muscle tension
What causes migraine headaches? vessel constriction/dialation
What is known about cluster headaches? they're seasonal and unilateral
What is torticollis? head tilt caused by short tissue
What can cause dislocation of the glenohumeral joint? falling on outstretched arm or blow to humerus while outstretched
What is shoulder impingement? irritation to the supraspinatus from being pinched under acromion process
What can cause catching or locking in the shoulder? labrium tear
What is shoulder separation? separation of ligaments at the acromion
What is frozen shoulder? adhesive capsule, loss of range of motion
What is carpal tunnel? irritation of medial nerve (at C6-T1)
What causes compression injuries to the wrist? compression of the nerves in the wrist
What is medial epicondylitis? inflammation of tendons caused by repetitive flexion (golfer's elbow)
What is lateral epicondylitis? inflammation of tendons caused by repetitive extension (tennis elbow)
What is bursitis? inflammation of the bursa sacs
