Divergent strabismus | lateral deviation of one eye. |
Glaucoma | excessive pressure builds up in the eye. obstruction of canal of Schlemm which drains aqueous humor from anterior chamber |
Cataract | clouding of cornea which blocks light from entering the eye |
Presbycusis (presby=old man) (akousis=hearing) | pregressive loss of hearing in older adults |
Tinnitus | ringing in the ear. |
Otitis media | inflammation of the middle ear;painful, leading to fever and diminished hearing |
Otitis interna (labryinthitis) | inflammation of the internal ear, usually produces vertigo, loss of balance, nausea |
Meniere disease | labyrinth of inner ear, lasts for a few years, progressive loss of hearing w/dizziness, nausea, vomiting, sensitivity to loud sounds, tinnitus, headaches lasting for minutes or hours |
