Effleurage Practical Applications Used to apply oil, to adapt the body to touch, to evaluate the client, to evaluate their tissues, to facilitate transitions between strokes, and to drain the area after other manipulations.
Effleurage Physiological Effects (Light) Light effleurage is all reflexive, relaxation, sedation, relieves pain, increases circulation both venous and lymphatic, decrease blood pressure and pulse, and reduces edema.

Vibration A rhythmic shaking, trembling or jostling of the tissue or body part.
Vibration Variations Stationary, traveling, may include traction, varying depth and speed or rate of stroke.
Vibration Physiological Effects All reflexive effects, relaxes muscles, increases circulation, stimulate organ function, stimulate synovial activity, relieves pain.
