review for anatomy exam one and two

osteocytes bone cells
osteoblasts cells that make new bones
osteoclasts cells that break down bone (removing calcium to send it into blood)
pereosteum around the bone--there is an osteoblast concentration here
cells in bones store what? fat, blood, phosphorus, calcium
types of bone: short tarsals, carpals,
types of bone: long femur, humerous, tibula etc.
types of bone: flat ilium, scapula, sternum, some skull bones (flat bones is where red blood cells are manufactured)
types of bone: sesamoid bones developed inside tendon. Patella, pisiform (in hand)
type of bone: irregular facial bones, vertebrae
bones in axial skeleton skull (cranial and facial), vertebral column, thoracic cage (ribs and sternum), hyoid bone (basically everything from skull down verterbral column)
bones in appendicular skeleton everything else: clavical, scapula (pectoral girdles), humerus, radius, ulna, crapals, metacarpals, phalanges (upper limbs), plevic girdle, coxa (or hip); femur, patella, tibia, fibula, tarsals, metatarsals, phalanges (lower limb)
