What is Dense Connective Tissue?
Contains more fibers but fewer cells than loose connective tissue.(tightly packed together.
What is Elastic Connective Tissue?
stretches-vertebrae,vocal cords.
What is Areolar Connective Tissue?
Most widely distriuted tissue. fills all the spaces in the body. This tissue is right under the skin and holds the organ loosely in place(fat is embedded-room to expand)
What is reticular connective tissue?
This tissue forms the stroma(supporting framework) of the liver, spleen, and lymph nodes.
What is dense irregular connective tissue?
collagen fibers are irregularly arranged. Found where there are pulling forces in various direction. (dermis, pericardium)(perichondrium-cartilage, Periosteum-surrounds bone)
What is mucous connective tissue?
Wharton's Jelly(umbilical cord)
what is loose connective tissue?
tissue where fibers are loosely intertwined an many cells are present. Three types are areolar, adipose,reticular tissues. Forms loose connections.
What is Adipose Connective Tissue?
AKA fat. provides cushion, insulation, protects, stores energy in the form of fat.
What is mesenchyme?
Embryonic tissue, unspecialized, undifferentiated.
What is Dense regular connective tissue?
collagen fibers are regularly arranged. in parallel patterns, provides the tissue wiht strength lengthwise only. (ligaments and tendons)
