Combining vowel -vowel added after root (a,i,o,u) -may join multiple roots together -for pronunciation only, have no meaning
Prefix -at the beginning of the word -there isn't always one -may have multiple meanings
Root -the core element of any term -there MUST be one -many terms have more than one
Suffix -found at the end of the word -may have multiple meanings
Thorax The part of the trunk between the abdomen and the neck. (the chest)
Villus Thin, hairlike projection, particularly of a mucous membrane lining a cavity.
Thoraces Multiple- parts of the trunk between the abdomen and the neck. (many chests)
