HTN and smoking can cause? MI, Arteriosclerosis, Atherosclerosis
Why do people with CHF take diuretics? To get rid of excess fluid in their body
Why are people with CHF on a low sodium diet? To help prevent them from retaining fluids
What is Congestive Heart Failure? The heart is not pumping as effectively, cannot tolerate the usual fluid capacity
The following: Atherosclerosis and MI, could cause? CHF
S/S of CHF Edema, Dyspnea, cyanosis, tachycardia, cough with pink frothy sputum
What do elastic support stockings do? Increase the blood flow in the legs
What is happening in a CABG (Coronary Artery Bypass Graft) surgery? The coronary arteries are being surgical replaced using an artery from the leg
What is a Sphygmomanometer? A device used to measure Blood Pressure
Why do people who HTN take diuretics? To decrease the excess fluid in the body
