Term | Definition |

Integumentary System | Includes Hair, Skin, Nails. Encloses internal body structures, also site of many sensory receptors. |
Skeletal System | Includes Cartilage, Bones, Joints. Supports the body and enables movement with the muscular system. |
Muscular System | Includes Skeletal muscles and Tendons. Enables movement with the skeletal system, helps maintain body temperature. |
Nervous System | Includes Brain, Spinal Cord, Peripheral nerves. Detects and processes sensory information, activates bodily responses. |
Endocrine System | Includes Pituitary gland, Thyroid gland, Pancreas, Adrenal glands, Testes/Ovaries. Secretes hormones, regulates bodily processes. |
Cardiovascular System | Includes Heart, Blood vessels. Delivers oxygen and nutrients to tissues, equalizes temperature in the body. |
Lymphatic System | Includes Thymus, Lymph nodes, Spleen, Lymphatic vessels. Returns fluid to blood, defends against pathogens. |
Respiratory System | Includes Nasal passage, Trachea, Lungs. Removes carbon dioxide from the body, delivers oxygen to blood. |
Urinary System | Includes Kidneys and Urinary bladder. Controls water balance in the body, removes wastes from blood and excretes them. |
Female Reproductive System | Includes Mammary glands, Ovaries, Uterus. Produces sex hormones/gametes, supports embryo/fetus until birth, produces milk for infant. |
Male Reproductive System | Includes Epididymis and Testes. Produces sex hormones/gametes, delivers gametes to female. |
