| What does Mechanical digestion do?= | Physically prepares food for chemical digestion by ezynmes.Processes include chewing, mixing with food by saliva by the tongue, churning food by the stomach and segmentation. |
| What does chemical digestion do?= | Food molecules are broken down into their chemical building blocks by enzymes secreted into the lumen of the alimentary canal.Begins in mouth complete in small intestines. |

| Defaecation= | Removal of undigested food and wastes are excreted from the alimentary canal and out the anus as faeces. |
