gluteus minimus origin: lateral surface of ilium
gluteus minimus insertion: greater trochanter of femur
gluteus minimus action: abduction and medial rotation of hip
tensor fasciae latae origin: iliac crest and surface of ilium between anterior iliac spines
tensor fasciae latae insertion: iliotibial tract
tensor fasciae latae action: flexion, abduction, and medial rotation at hip; tenses fascia lata, which laterally supports the knee
adductor magnus origin: inferior ramus of pubis posterior to the adductor brevis
adductor magnus insertion: linea aspera of femur
adductor magnus action: adduction at hip joint; superior portion produces flexion; inferior portion produces extension
adductor longus origin: inferior ramus of pubis anterior to adductor brevis
adductor longus insertion: linea aspera of femur
adductor longus action: adduction, flexion, and medial rotation at hip
adductor brevis origin: inferior ramus of pubis
adductor brevis insertion: linea aspera of femur
adductor brevis action: adduction, flexion, and medial rotation at hip
gracilis origin: inferior ramus of pubis
gracilis insertion: medial surface of tibia inferior to medial condyle
gracilis action: flexion at knee; adduction and medial rotation at hip
psoas major origin: anterior surfaces and transverse processes of T12 and lumbar vertebrae
psoas major insertion: lesser trochanter in company with iliacus
psoas major action: flexion at hip and/or lumbar intervertebral joints
