Where does the Diaphragm inserted? Central tendon
It raises ribs during inspiration; and increases anteroposterior and transverse diameters of the thorax External intercostals
Where does diaphragm originates? Xiphoid process (sternal part); Lower 6 costal cartilages (costal part); and First 3 lumbar vertebrae (vertebral part)
Action of Serratus posterior inferior muscle depresses ribs and one of the expiratory muscles
Nerve supply of Diaphragm Phrenic nerve
Originated at the tip of transverse process of C7 and T1-T11 vertebrae Levatores costarum
Lowers ribs during expiration Internal intercostal
Where does Serratus posterior inferior originated? Upper lumbar and Lower thoracic spines
