Anatomy is the study of internal & external body structures in their physical relationship among other body parts.
Physiology is the study of how living organisms perform their functions.
Autoregulation s the process that occurs when a cell, a tissue, an organ, or an organ system adjusts in response to some environmental change.
positive feedback loop Causes a system to change further in the same direction.
Mediastinum a membranous partition between two body cavities or two parts of an organ, especially that between the lungs.
Isotopes Atoms of the same element that contain different number of neutrons
Peptide Bond Covalent bond between the carboxyl group of one amino acid & the amino group of another
Golgi apparatus Golgi apparatus Forms secretory vesicles & new plasma membrane components, & packages lysosomes. Secretions are discharged from the cell by exocytosis.
What are the types of Glandular Epithelium? exocrine glands and endocrine glands
Where do glandular epithelium secrete? Discharge into ducts, lumen of visceral structures, into the surface or directly into the blood.
Where and how does Merocrine gland secretes the product? discharge directly through cell or plasma and completed without injury. ex. salivary glands
What are the 6 types of synovial joint? 1, Ball and socket (spheroidal) joint 2. Condylar (ellipsoidal) joint 3. Hinge (ginglymoid) joint 4. Gliding (plane) joint 5. Pivot or (trochoid) joint 6. Saddle (sellar) joint
What type of synovial joint is a "Convex surface on one bone fits into concave surface of another"? Condylar Joint
What type of synovial joint is "One bone rotates in a ring formed of bone and a ligament"? Pivot joint
