Term | Definition |

Decode | The ability to apply your knowledge of letter-sound relationships, including knowledge of letter patterns, to correctly pronounce written words. |
Multisyllabic | Words that have more than one syllable, or vowel sound. |
Prefix | A pair or group of letters added to the front of a base word. |
Suffix | A letter, or group of letters, that is added to the end of a. root (base) word. |
Syllable | A single, unbroken vowel sound within a spoken word. |
Phrase | A group of words together. |
Paragraph | A groups of sentences that share a common idea. |
