hemoglobin protein which contains iron used to transport oxygen
biconcave discs the shape of normal blood cells
hematopoiesis formation of blood cells
erythropoietin hormone that increases production of red blood cellsq
oxyhemoglobin plenty of oxygen, "bright red"
deoxyhenoglobin low in oxygen, "dark red"
veins delivers oxygenated blood to tissues
arteries delivers deoxygenated blood to lungs
capillaries the tine vessels where veins and arteries meet
CBC complete blood count
hematocrit measures the proportion of red blood cells in your blood
acute a cancer that progresses quickly
lymphocytic referring to lymphocytes, a type of white blood cell
granulocytes granular cytoplasm
agranulocytes lacking granular cytoplasm
neutrophil type of white blood cell that form in your bone marrow
