Upper Limbs

TermDefinition
Clavicle collarbone, attaches anteriorly to the sternum, posterior to scapula
Scapula shoulder blade
Acromion process high prominence on the shoulder
Coracoid process attachment site for upper back and shoulder muscles
Glenoid Cavity shoulder joint, site where the scapula and humerus meet
Humerus bone extending from the shoulder to the elbow
Head articulates with the glenoid cavity
Deltoid tuberosity roughened v-shape, attachment site for deltoid muscle
Croronoid fossa anterior fossa recieves the coronoid process of ulna when arm is flexed
Olecranon fossa posterior side of the elbow joint, receives the olecranon of the ulna when extended
Radius bone in lower arm, thumb side
Radial tuberosity allows the bicep to attach to lower arm
Ulna the inner and longer of the two bones of the human forearm, pinky side
Olecranon process forms the prominence of the elbow
Carpals wrist bones, 8 per side
Scaphoid boat shaped, most commonly fractured, below thumb
Capitate largest wrist bone
Metacarpals 1-5 (thumb to pinky), attach distally to the carpals (10 in total)
Phalanges each finger has 3 (proximal, medial, distal), except thumb (2), 28 in total
