erythrocyte red blood cell
septum a dividing wall or membrane especially between sections of the body
atrium one of two sections of the heart that take in blood from the veins; upper sections
ventricle one of two lower sections of the heart that pumps the blood
mitral valve a cardiac valve consisting of two triangular flaps which allow the blood to flow in one direction only from the left atrium to the left ventricle
aortic valve the valve that separates the aorta from the left ventricle and prevents blood from flowing back into the left ventricle
