Spontaneous generation | the mistaken idea that living things arise from nonliving sources |
Homeostasis | the condition in which an organism's internal environment is kept stable in spite of changes in the external environment |
Characteristics | a feature that helps to identify something |
Microscope | an instrument that makes small objects look bigger |
Cell Theory | a widely accepted explanation of the relationship between cells and living things |
Distinguish | to manage to recognize something you can barely see |

Growth | size or stage of development |
Hand lens | a magnifying glass designed to be held in the hand |
Magnifacation | to increase the apparent size of an object |
Reproduce | to reproduce it's kind, as in an organism; bear offspring |
