Stratified Squamous(keratinization) | Epithelial, multi-layered, flat cells toward surface, surface cells are dead, epidermis, resists abrasion |
Stratified Cuboidal | Epithelial, multi-layered, sweat gland ducts, secretes sweat and saliva, surface cells are square or round |
Stratified Columnar | Epithelial, multi-layered, tall/thin cells, resting on more cuboidal cells, cells ciliated in the larynx, protection |
Transitional | Epithelial, change from round to flat when stretched, multilayered, bladder, protection against the caustic effects of urine |
