Leukocytes study set

Leukocytes White blood cells; immune system
Neutrophils -GRANULOCYTE -most common leukocytes -three-lobed nuclei -engulf and destroy bacteria -more produced in an infection
Eosinophils -GRANULOCYTE -two-lobed nuclei -kill parasitic worms ingested in food -lessen allergic reaction
Basophils -GRANULOCYTE -release histamines which dilate blood vessels -three- humped nuclei
Lymphocytes -AGRANULOCYTE -found in lymph nodes -look like Frisbees ○TWO TYPES -T-cells -B-cells
Monocytes -AGRANULOCYTE -kidney-shaped nuclei -turn into macrophages upon exiting blood stream into surrounding tissue
