Plan of the Body parts and Systems

TermDefinition
Anatomty is the study of the structure of the body
Physiology is the study of hoe the body functions
Pathophysiology is the study of disorders of functioning
Inorganic Chemicals simple molecules made up of one or two elements other than carbon
Organic Chemicals are very complex elements and always contain the elements carbon and hydrogen
Cells the smallest living units of structure and function
Tissue a group of cells with similar structure and function
Epithelial Tissues cover or line body surfaces
Connective Tissues connect and support parts of the body
Muscle Tissues are specialized for contraction, which brings about movement
Nerve Tissues are specialized to generate and transmit electrochemical impulses that regulate body functions
Organs are a group of tissues perfectly arranged to accomplish specific functions
Organ Systems is a group of organs that all contribute to a specific function
Microbiota enormous population of bacteria and other microorganisms, also known as "normal flora"
Metabolism is all of the chemical reactions and physical processes that take place within the body
Metabolic Rate is known as the speed at which the body produces energy and heat
Negative Feedback is which the body's response reverses the stimulus and keeps some aspect of the body metabolism within normal range
Positive Feedback is when the response to the stimulus does not change, but instead keeps the sequence of events going until it is interrupted: example giving birth
