Blood vessels
Term | Definition |

Umbilical Arteries | Carries deoxygenated blood away from the fetus's heart to the placenta |
Umbilical veins | Carries oxygenated blood from the placenta to the fetus's heart |
Left Atrium | Receives oxygenated blood from the pulmonary veins and passes blood to the left ventricle |
Left ventricle | Receives deoxygenated blood from the left atrium and pumps it into the aorta. |
Right atrium | Receives deoxygenated blood from the superior and inferior vena cava and passes blood to the right ventricle. |
Right Ventricle | Receives deoxygenated blood from the right atrium and pumps it into the pulmonary trunk. |
External jugular Vein | Drains blood from the neck, face, and scalp. |
Right subclavian Veins | Drains blood from the right arm |
Internal jugular veins | Drains blood from the brain |
Superior Vena Cava | Drains blood from the upper systemic circuit. |
Aorta | Supplies blood to the entire body |
Brachiocephalic trunk | Supplies blood to the right side of the head and the right arm (in human) |
Common carotid Arteries | Supplies blood to the right side of the head |
Pulmonary trunk | Carries deoxygenated blood to the lungs. |
Inferior vena cava | Drains blood from the lower systemic circuit. |
