Spleen Function The spleens function is to fight invading germs in the blood, controls The level of blood cells, filters the blood and removes any old or damaged red blood cells
Hematocrit is the percentage by volume of red cells in your Blood
Dynamic Equilibrium A dynamic equilibrium is the state of a reversible reaction in which the rate of the forward reaction equals the rate of the backwards reactions and the concentrations of reactants and products remain the same.
Metabolism of Glucose Is the process where we eat carbohydrates, they breakdown into Simple sugars which all turn into glucose which flows through the blood to the cells.
Synapses the point at which a nervous impulse passes from one neuron to another.
Passive transport Is a type of membrane transport that does not require energy to move substances across cell membranes.
Pleural Cavity The pleural cavity is the space between the pleura, the two thin membranes that line and surround the lungs.
Fluid shifts A fluid shift is a rapid movement of water between the ECF and ICF in response to an osmotic gradient.
Resting Potential of a neuron The resting potential tells about what happens when a neuron is at rest. An action potential occurs when a neuron sends information down an axon, away from the cell body.
Antibody An antibody is a protein produced by the body's immune system when it detects harmful substances, called antigens.
