Anatomy

What is physiology is defined as? The study of the function of a living organism
What does superior mean? Towards the head
What two cavities is the abdominopelvic cavity subdivided into? Abdominal and Pelvic cavity
Using directional terms, the gluteal region is what to the popliteal region? Superior
Using directional terms, the chest is what to the abdomen? Superior
Using directional terms, the knee is what to the foot? Proximal
What is a chemical bond? A force holding two atoms together.
What is an isotope? An element that contains the same number of protons but different number of neutrons.
What does an atomic number tell you? Number of protons in the nucleus
What is the most abundant element essential to life? Oxygen
Acid, bases, and salts belong to what group of compounds? Electrolytes
What are electrolytes called when they have a positive charge? Cations
What is the largest cytoskeleton element in diameter? Microtubules
What does membranous organelle peroxisome contain? Oxidase and catalase enzymes.

What are Ribosomes? Organelles that float in the cytoplasm and attach to the centrioles.
