Define Anatomy is the branch of biology that studies the structure and organization of living organisms. It focuses on the physical structures of the body, including organs, tissues, and cells, as well as their relationships to one another.
Define pyshiology is the branch of biology that focuses on the functions and processes of living organisms and their parts. It explores how various systems in the body work individually and together to maintain homeostasis and overall health.
Define metabolism refers to the set of life-sustaining chemical reactions that occur within living organisms. It encompasses all the processes that convert food into energy, build and repair tissues, and eliminate waste products.
Discuss the structure of the cell is a complex structure consisting of a cell membrane, cytoplasm, nucleus, and various organelles such as mitochondria, endoplasmic reticulum, and Golgi apparatus, all working together to perform essential functions for life.
List and describe the different types of direct cell connections Tight Junctions,Desmosomes,Gap Junctions
Distinguish the three types of muscle tissue Skeletal Muscle,Cardiac Muscle,Smooth Muscle
What is a skeletal muscle Striated and voluntary muscle that attaches to bones and enables movement; it is under conscious control.
What is a cardiac muscle Striated and involuntary muscle found only in the heart, responsible for pumping blood and regulated by intrinsic and autonomic signals.
What is smooth muscle Non-striated and involuntary muscle found in walls of hollow organs, such as the intestines and blood vessels, controlling movements like peristalsis and blood flow.
Define posture and discuss its importance to the body as a whole refers to the position of the body and its alignment in relation to gravity, which is crucial for maintaining balance, reducing strain on muscles and joints, and ensuring efficient movement and overall body function.
