TermDefinition
Coronal plane divides the body into anterior and posterior portions
rough endoplasmic reticulum This site is the membranous organelle that conducts protein synthesis for proteins
Sagittal plane divides the body into right and left sides
extracellular matrix fluid environment that fills the spaces between the cells of the body
Arrector pili muscle Attached to hair follicles to help the hair contract and cause goosebumps
Synovial membrane Barrier inside the joints This helps the joint stay lubricated so they are not rubbing against each other
Stratum corneum Outer later of the epidermis that has many functions This is the barrier that protect against most environmental substances
Pubic Symphysis joint between the pubic portions of the coxal bone
lumbar vertebrae vertebral bones that support the lower section of the back
Hyoid bone This bone is in the front of the neck This bone assists in swallowing and speaking. This is the only floating bone
Lacrimal bone Facial bones that are small and fragile it makes up the frontal inner wall of each orbit or eye socket
