What are the 4 major elements in the body and what's the percentage in the human body? Carbon, Oxygen, Hydrogen, and Nitrogen 96% composed in the human body
What is a ATP and what does it stand for? ATP stands for Adenosine Triphosphate It is the source energy for use and storage at the cellular level
What is the pH scale ? It measures the acidity or basic of a substance. pH 7 is neutral pH >7 is alkalinity pH < is acidity
What makes the mitochondria important and different than the organelles? The mitochondria is the powerhouse of the cell. It consists of a 2 membranes, has its own DNA, and able to replicate an identical daughter mitochondria.
What are the 4 types of tissue? Epithelial, Connective, muscle, nervous
What are the 5 types of bones in the human body? long bones, short bones, flat bones, irregular bones, sesamoid bones
What are the two types of bone marrow? Red bone marrow produces red blood cells. Yellow bone marrow is no longer active in blood cell production. Red bone marrow is replaced by yellow bone marrow as aging.
What are the two proteins that bind together to help stimulate muscle contractions? Actin and Myosin
