What is Homeostasis? It is stability, balance or equillibrium within a cell or the body. It is an organsims ability to keep a constant internal enviornment.
What is responsible for extracting energy from food through cellular respiration also know as th powerhouse of the cell? Mitochondria
What are the three major types of chemical bonds? Ionic, covalent, and metallic bonds
What is the difference between catabolism and anabolism? Catabolism breaks down big complex molecules into smaller, easier to absorb molecules. Anabolism builds molecules required for the body's functionality.
What is metabolism? The chemical reactions in the body's cells that change food into energy.
What is the most basic unit of life? A cell.
What provides the cells function and ability to replicate genetic information? DNA
What are the skins three main layers? Epidermis, dermis, and hypodermis.
What are bones made of? Two-thirds proteins like collagen and the other third is calcium phosphate.
What is the integumentary system comprised of? Skin and it's appendages such as hair, nails, and sweat glands.
