Circulatory System Vocabulary

A fiborous sac lined with serous membrane that encloses the heart. Pericardium

Condition of having a blood clot within the vessel. Thrombosis
Cavity or chamber; one of the two lower chambers of the heart. Ventricle
Maintains the undirectional flow of the blood in the heart by opening and closing depending on the difference of pressure on ither sides. Heart Valve
Carry freshly oxegenated blood to the heart muscule, can be seen on exterior side of the heart. Coronary Arteries
The widening of chambers of the heart between two attractions when the chambers fill with blood. Diastole
The sequence of contraction and relaxation that makes up the heart beat. Cardiac Cycle
Total amount of blood being pumped by the heart over a particular period of time. Cardiac Output
Impulse generating (Pacemaker) tissue located on the right atrium of the heart. Sinoatrial (SA) Node
